UFC Fight Night 11: Substitute Winner

UFC Fight Night 11 – Thomas vs. Florian – Las Vegas, Nev. – The Pearl at the Palms - Sept. 19, 2007

Kenny Florian subbed into the main event on UFC Fight Night 11 and beat Din Thomas with a rear naked choke in 4 minutes, 31 seconds.

Florian took the place of Spencer Fisher, who reportedly had to drop out due to a staph infection.

This show was the lead-in to the season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter Season 6.

Chris Leben, who competed on the first six Fight Night shows, returned to the series and knocked out Terry Martin in Round 3.

Nate Diaz won his first bout after his TUF 5 victory. He used a guillotine choke to beat Junior Assuncao at the 4:10 mark.

Nate Quarry returned from a two-year absence from the Octagon to knock out Pete Sell in the third round.

Gray Maynard scored a lightning-fast knockout over Joe Veres in just nine seconds in a pre-show match.

Thiago Alves used a punch-and-knee combination to defeat Kunioshi Hironaka by TKO in Round 2.

In other preliminary bouts, Cole Miller beat Leonard Garcia by unanimous decision; Luke Cummo beat Edilberto Crocota by TKO; and Dustin Hazelett beat Jonathan Goulet with an armbar at the 1:14 mark.
