Chris “Lights Out” Lytle rode into retirement on a new
Harley Davidson after beating Dan Hardy at UFC on Versus 5.
Lytle announced at the weigh-in that this would be his last fight.
He beat “The Outlaw” with a guillotine choke in the third round.
He also won a new motorcycle that had been put up as a prize
by a local dealership. Lytle wrapped up his career with a record of 31 wins, 18
losses and 5 draws.
Ben Henderson improved to 2-0 in the UFC with a unanimous
decision over Jim Miller.
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone beat Charles Oliviera by TKO at the 3:01
mark.
Duane “Bang” Ludwig opened the telecast on Versus with a
unanimous decision over Amir Sadollah, who won Season 7 of The Ultimate
Fighter.
On the Facebook pre-show, Jared Hamman beat CB Dollaway by
TKO in Round 2. Joseph Benavidez beat Eddie Wineland by unanimous decision.
Ed “Short Fuse” Herman used a heel hook to beat Kyle Noke by
submission at the 4:15 mark. Ronny Markes (12-1) made his UFC debut with a
unanimous decision over Karlos Vemola.
Also debuting with a win was Jimy Hettes, who beat Alex “Bruce
Leeroy” Caceres with a rear naked choke in Round 2. Cole Miller beat TJ O’Brien
with a guillotine choke in the second round.
Jacob Volkmann beat Danny Castillo by unanimous decision ;
and Edwin Figueroa beat Jason Reinhardt by TKO early in the second round.
